Yesterday I had a OB (that turned
GYN) appointment at 2:50pm..
I peed in a cup..I assume I am pregnant..it was never confirmed verbally..but I did receive a new mom-to-be goody bag..so we must be.
They lost my chart..yes..lost it..they said, "It must be misplaced..or in storage..we store old patient files." Blah, blah, blah. I just had a baby 2 years ago..I have been going to this Dr. for..hmmm..12 years? She delivered
Izabelle and Mattie and I see her annually. So guess what? We had to go build another chart..illness in family..heart issues, kidney, etc. Then the question that made me instantly sad..almost cry.."Have you even been in an abusive relationship?" "Well are you safe now?" Yes! I am. Then onto the subject..since you are "over 35"..as compared to older that dirt..there are some tests that we
recommend..you know the ones..decline, decline, decline..I respond...calming my husband at the same time..telling him it is in God's hands now. Good grief..I am already an emotional mess..nurse practitioner. So let's bring on the exam..pap smear..yep..HATE them..I would much rather have a root canal..yes..I have had a root canal..so yes..I can compare them. The NP says, "Oh..you are one of those women that are very
sensitive." Yep..that would be me! So get it over already..quit the small talk! (I got stuck with NP Darlene..instead of my favorite NP Freida..she is heavy set, always smiling, gives hugs and rejoices with you when the news is confirmed.) Then onto the
laboratory..4 tubes of blood to check my thyroid..a full panel screening..to check for anemia..I forget the rest..there were a lot..and let's not forget the flu shot. I had 2 nurses on me..same arm..one drawing and one sticking..is that legal? They must of been running behind..and trying to save time? Maybe. All I remember is that I was starring into the hallway and trying my best not to barf!
I am approximately 7 weeks..I have been given a due date of June 8 , 2009 (but will schedule a c-section around 38 weeks..this will assure that my Dr. will deliver baby #4..not even going to attempt to push a
LaFaye head through there again*wink*) I get to see my Dr. in 4 weeks..we will get to find out the sex of our baby at 20 weeks. Lot's of excitement around here right now..yesterday was totally worth it..just glad it is Friday:)
Names..we have baby names picked out..if it is a boy..Jon Paul
McCabe LaFaye..
McCabe is Rich's (deceased) mother's maiden name. I love the name. If it is a girl..
McKenna Siddalee LaFaye..
McKenna from McCabe..Siddalee..yep you guessed it..from my favorite movie in the universe..The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Maybe that is why I taught Mattie to call my MIL Ya-Ya..maybe..actually I think Mattie said it first..then of course I jumped on the idea. Ya-Ya! Everyone should have a Ya-Ya:) Sorry..rambling here.
Thank you for all of your sweet comments in the last post. I know I have neglected blogging..but I haven't felt real good..mainly just extremely sleepy. As my step-brother says, "That little creature is sucking the life out of you." Until next time.
