"We are closed..because..

..the tomb is open." Is what Moss' sign said this morning..Rich told me..he went out to get Arby's for breakfast this morning..the entire family missed church this morning because of me..I woke up sick..(headache & horrible body aches & chills) I was in the bed until 4:15pm..so I had to cancel Easter dinner plans with "Yaya" & "Gram"..so sorry mom:( I think the thought of not following through with all the plans I had for today made me feel even worse. The kids were bummed..they thought since I couldn't cook, that Rich was supposed to take over..I explained to them that Rich doesn't know how to cook all that stuff. They had long faces all day..Rich said..they really wanted to see "Yaya" & "Gram." I will try to make it up to them tomorrow..by preparing the "Easter meal."

Last night after we read the story that came with the resurrection eggs and put the resurrection cookies in the oven and then Trae and Izabelle sealed it with tape..we all went upstairs around 10pm..I laid down..waiting for the children to go to sleep..so I could assist Peter..well I fell asleep..thankfully I woke up at 6:00am..I sprung up out of the bed..feeling like I was going to collapse..but I felt I had a job to do, I had to assist Peter..I came downstairs..went into the garage (where all the loot was hidden)..filled the baskets..put them back in their places..got the carrots and celery..made them appear eaten..hid the excess in the kitchen trash..then went back to bed. Whew!

I managed to take a few photos of Trae and Izabelle with their Easter loot this afternoon..Mattie was napping..so I didn't get one of her. I did finish the resurrection cookie story this morning with Trae and Izabelle..the cookies were hollow!

Yesterday..our first hunt was at 10:00am @ VBC..boy..was it chilly! I think the high for yesterday was only 54 degrees. Afterwards..the youth read a story to the little ones out on the lawn..so sweet:)

The second hunt was from 11:00am - 2:00pm..we arrived around 10:50a..(Charlie Daniels Park)..my goodness..the place was already packed..there wasn't any parking..I'll bet there was over a thousand people there! So..I told Izabelle..NO WAY! So I took her to IHOP for a Who breakfast..we had Jo-jo's kid breakfast..it is a combination of Who-cakes and the Mayor's breakfast (green eggs and ham) and we added a side of hash browns and Izabelle ordered a glass of Beezlenut Splash. Rich had taken us to see "Horton Hears a Who!" on Friday..it was a very cute movie:) We were definitely feeling Who-ish:)

After our Who-breakfast..we drove home in our Who-SUV and had a costume change for Mattie..then headed out for the hunt in our subdivision from 2:00pm-3:00pm..they always have live bunny photos there..and last year they let me use my own camera..but..not this year..so as soon as I get my hands on those babies..I will share them with you:)

This was the 1-2 year old area @VBC..it was a bit overwhelming for them..the older kids came in afterwards and picked up what the little ones had missed.

Mattie found her first egg..then wanted to sit down and open it..so cute! That is little Atticus behind her..he is as cute as a button..I went to school with his father..he is now a lawyer..Atticus was named after the lawyer in the movie "To Kill a Mockingbird." Very cool!

I took this photo before the hunt in our subdivision..I found this really pretty landscaped area in some one's yard..it was close to the road though..we were in and out of there in a flash! I don't think anyone even saw us:)

The hunt in our subdivision

"Bunny munch" for Peter

Every one's Easter loot!

Trae got..candy..candy..candy..Rubik's cube..Duncan butterfly yo-yo..and a Slinky

Izabelle got candy..candy..candy..Duncan butterfly yo-yo..Slinky..and Math flashcards

I took these the other day..Tuesday to be exact..the girls were playing under the sheets in my bed..they were having soooo much fun!

I need to go to bed..even though I am not tired..(flurries in the forecast tonight?)..hopefully I can sleep..good night!
Happy Easter!

Resurrection Eggs

Lead your kids on a fun, faith-filled Easter egg hunt this year--one that teaches them about Jesus' death and resurrection! Each egg carton is filled with a dozen colorful plastic eggs. Pop them open and find miniature symbols of the Easter story inside. An easy-to-understand booklet in both English and Spanish features Bible stories explaining the significance of each object. Recommended for ages 5 and up.
I picked up a pack of Resurrection eggs today at LifeWay in MJ. They were on sale (Reg.$14.95) $12.99. Izabelle is so excited about reading the story! We are going to make Resurrection cookies on Saturday night..click "here" for the recipe.
You can also make your own Resurrection eggs at home..click "here" for the link.
Happy Spring!

Leprechauns

St. Patrick's Day..fun!

Yesterday..we went to the park and had lunch..it was a little windy..then we visited Trailer Sales of Tennessee, Inc. for a couple of hours:) I worked there for 6 years..Rich tells everyone I am retired now..haaa! We had a nice visit:)

We stopped for ice cream..as in Wendy's ice cream..yummm! The kids like the new twisted Frosty's with Oreo or M&M's:) I like the original Frosty:) Mattie likes anything we are eating:)

I made some deliveries..

..and I took some pictures of some leprechauns I found underneath a tree!

P.S.
Aunt Cherry-
Right after Izabelle read her comment from you on her blog..the "Luck of the Irish" on Disney channel came on..she thought it was a "sign"..very cute!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Corned Beef & Cabbage is on the menu for dinner tonight. I add potatoes while cooking the cabbage. I recently introduced Rich to this dish..and he has decided that he likes the corned beef but still won't eat the cabbage..Trae has even started eating corned beef..wow..3 out of 5! I will introduce it to Mattie tonight..maybe we will have 3 out of 4:) Izabelle will just have to eat her old standby: Chef Boyardee Spaghetti and Meatballs..picky little eater..she is.

Update! I am Irish (sort of)..who new? My Aunt Susie-Q is "da bomb" with this ancester stuff..she studies our family (on my father's side/DePugh)..she has soooo much information. She is always surprising me with stories:) Thanks..Aunt Susie-Q for this photo..xoxo

This is my Great Great Grandfather: Thomas Pew (born in England) & his wife Margaret Ann Rose (from Ireland). Their son: John Henry Alexander Pew.

Yesterday & 72 degrees

Out and about..making a few Avon deliveries..we stopped at a nearby pond (not ours)..to take a walk and watch the duckies:) Wow! What a beautiful day yesterday was..and today was superb also. I hope we don't see anymore snow..until this winter..I am ready for sunshine and 70 degree days.

Miss Cranky..wearing an {A.C.T.G.F. original}..and..it is officially nap time..she dozed on the way home in the truck..then went to bed early @ 9:15pm

I thought this was hilarious..this little duckie had his head so far into the water that his little duckie bootie was straight up in the air!

Later..his little friend decided to join him:)

Doris..I know your birthday is coming up soon..so..I baked you a cake:)
Enjoy!
