Finally..we carved the pumpkin after church tonight.

Lord..look at the gourd that we found!!! We had to cut a door out in the back toward the bottom to get all the muck out..we figured this out after cutting the top for the lid..then realized after we had muck up to the part of your arm between the elbow & the shoulder(anyone know that name of that part of your body?) that we could not reach the bottom! Anyhoo..we named him Mr. Conehead. We will light him maybe tomorrow night..we need to bring him in at night..he might get pumpkin-knapped and thrown into the street..it has happened before.

After carving & cleaning Mr. Conehead..we carefully picked out the pumpkin seeds out from the muck and rinsed them..then roasted them with some salt..yum..yum!

I think we skipped fall..it got too cold too fast!

Izabelle & Mattie on a hayride this morning at Pumpkin Hill. It was a crisp 45 degrees! But we had lots of fun. Mattie fell asleep during the ride.

I shot this near the pool..we had to hurry..apparently the ducks were hungry and they were running across the street to see if we had food..we did not bring food this time..I wish we would have now!
The kids picked out a pumpkin today..wait until you see what it looks like! We will carve it later after Izabelle's TKD class.

Tres Leches...Yummmmm!

Hey Mom! This is the cake I got for $30.00 at the Mexicali Market! Great deal huh? In Acuna, Mexico we get half of this for $35.00 (like 385 pesos). It is very good..for those of you that have never tried this cake..it is made with 3 different kinds of milk(tres leches)..so it is very,very moist..almost a wet cake..very delicious! I will have one at the CANDLE PARTY on the 30th..you all can taste it then.

Izabelle's Halloween Costume Party!

Yesterday from 4p-7p..Izabelle had a costume party with a few of her friends! But before the party started... I got a shot of Trae..aka:Scream, Izabelle..aka:Glamour Witch & Mattie as herself!
We had pizza, chips and cokes and for dessert we had Tres Leches cake..I tried to add a pic of the cake in this entry but it is full..won't take anymore pics. Will post it above.

I took this..this morning after getting Mattie dressed. This is the outfit I was talking about last night..Aunt Cherry..it is a size 6 months..and it fits her!

Richie turned 37 yesterday!

We had his favorite cake made at Becker's...he loves a good carrot cake...and they did a very good job! He took the rest to work this morning(he said that is was gone before 9am)..the kids don't like carrot cake...so I had purchased single white cake petit fours for them to enjoy while Rich enjoyed his.

Rich making a wish..probably wishing that the carne asada burritos & tacos I made him for his birthday dinner don't give him the heartburn..ha ha
He can really put away the mexican food!

This is Mattie with Guelita Mireles...this is Freddy & Daisy's grandmother(their Father's mother). Mrs. Mireles calls me Momita..means little mama.
Mattie goes to Acuna, Mexico. Boy..was it hot. But we got some good shopping done..milky way cake(my brothers favorite) from Capricho's Bakery & fresh yummy avocado's for chalupas at dinner!

Mattie with Guelita Castro(left) & Guelita DePugh(right). Guelita Castro only speaks Spanish..and when she would speak to Mattie...Mattie would give her a big smile. Mattie was born on her birthday..she turned 77(I think).

What's up with Blogger?

I am still trying to add pictures..but it just won't take..I haven't experienced problems like this EVER! I don't see any notes saying that they are working on it or updating..I will keep trying. Mattie was 2 months old yesterday..and had a well-baby-check-up today..and got FOUR (4)..yes (4) shots..Oh..my goodness..It was so upsetting..Izabelle cried, she said "First, they stick a thermometer up her butt..then they have to give her a bunch of shots..I wish they would leave her alone!" Anyhoo..Mattie is having a very rough night..she is sleeping right now..don't know for how long though. Izabelle got a little yellow tape on the end of her white belt today..for making the decision to stick with TKD..the last 2 weeks were trial..so we paid for 1 month today, she is doing very well. Oh I almost forgot Mattie is now...23 inches..12 lbs. 11oz. she getting so big!

Anyhoo..this is my step-Sister (Daisy) and step-Brother (Freddy). We all had a lot of fun visiting with each other(this is at Freddy's house)..Mom watched Mattie Friday night so that all three of us could go to dinner and watch a movie! Thanks Mom..I Love You.

Newsflash!!!!!

For those of you that know about the "Swing Issue". Well....no more issues at this house..Mattie swung(is that a real word) for 40 minutes yesterday!!!!! She actually fell asleep and took a little "Mattie Nap". I am so excited..happy..relieved..this will now be another option for when I need to get something done...OR...do some scrapbooking(Ha!)

Izabelle had a great day yesterday in class...she was much more relaxed...she was nervous her first day on Tuesday. She asked me after class(yesterday) when she was going back...her instructor said she did a great job!

Oh!!! My camera is being delivered today!! Oh yea..Uh huh...Oh yea..Uh huh!!!!!!!!!!

Izabelle's First Day at "Spirit Martial Arts"

Izabelle has started taking Taekwondo..they have a little trial special right now..$35.00 for 2 weeks..to see if she likes it..NO CONTRACTS! If you decide to stay..it is $79.00 a month..not bad, I don't think. (Terrible pic..I know..I should of never taken a picture in front of a glass window..duh!!) We will be going again tomorrow afternoon..I will try again. She looks so cute in her uniform.
