Happy 38th!

Today my sweetie is 38! Everyone wish him a happy birthday:) He will spend his birthday at work today..so we will celebrate on Sunday. I am having a customer of mine make him a home-made carrot cake...it is his favorite. He actually bought himself a birthday gift on Wednesday..for those of you that know him well..this was odd for him to do. He never buys anything for himself..he always would rather us have what we want. So "What did he buy himself?" you ask. The Nintendo Wii! We hooked it up Wednesday evening to our 52" big screen..and played until midnight:) Toooo much fun! Boxing, Tennis, Golf, Baseball, etc. Money well spent!

My wonderful sister-in-law brought some pictures of Richie when he was child..while she was visting last week..here is my favorite! Isn't he a cutie?

Another reason to eat cake!

Today Mattie is 14 months old! Izabelle wanted to celebrate by making a cake:) So she made a white cake and homemade icing (she added a little peppermint extract to the icing)..the idea came from Aunt Cherry (a.k.a. A.C.T.G.F.)..and it is yummo!

Mattie can now climb on top of the coffee table, she loves to shut doors and says "shut", she learned to say "papa" yesterday, Izabelle & I seriously thought that Mattie just said the word "cake", if you think that she has something in her mouth that doesn't belong, you can say "Open up & let me see" and she will open her mouth, stick out her tongue and say "Ahhhhhh", I thought the "binky" was just for play..but Mattie has made it one of her necesseties, she has Richie's curls (very sweet), she loves to stand in front of the freezer/refrigerator while it is open (also likes to pull things out like chocolate syrup), she lives under the kitchen table and has almost mastered the art of not hitting her head, she knows where her hair, nose, eyes & ears are, potty training is going well..when she is wet or stinky..she will bring us a clean pair of panties/diaper so that we can change her..I think this is good..because she obviously is uncomfortable and knows how to fix it:) So I don't think it will be too much longer and she will use her potty 100% of the time:), she knows how to turn the television off and on, she will turn the stove top off while I am cooking, she gets ahold of Richie's shirt collar and pulls him close to her and she plants a big kiss on him..then walks away, like that was all she needed (too cute), at night between 9:30p-? (when Rich gets home) when she hears the key in the doorknob..she gets soooooo excited! She knows it is her daddy coming in. She will stop everything and focus on the front door..her eyes get really big and she forms an O with her mouth..then when he enters..she goes ba-zurk!!

Something I just have to share:
I was recently introduced to a movie called "The Secret"..it is amazing. I own a copy of it..if you wish to borrow it, just let me know..you can also purchase your own copy for $29.95.
Also I have been listening to "The Success Principals" by Jack Canfield (author of: Chicken Soup for the Soul)..and Jim Rohn, this is amazing stuff!
I believe that "The Secret" is such an amazing movie and that everybody could benefit from viewing it..that I am going to have a GIVE-AWAY! The first person to leave a comment that has watched the movie entirely will be the winner:) "What is the prize?" you ask..well, it is a Secret:) But the value of the prize is $50.00 (something that I no longer need or use, from my scrapbook room)
Have a beautiful day!

The Capitol

Well..before I talk about our field trip to the Capitol..here is a cute pic of Mattie and her new favorite place:) Toto's kennel! Also she has a favorite toy..the little white end that comes off of the door stopper thingy..yes..she likes to pull them off. You can see it on her finger inside the end of her binky. She doesn't really use binkey's..she just likes to play with them and chew on them.

This is the new Nashville Star..our double decker commuter train. I think it is a year old now..or close to it.

The Capitol of Tennessee (Nashville). Rich took us Wednesday when he was off work. I had never been! It is beautiful. Izabelle has started a "State Notebook"..so we are studying Tennessee.

This was cool..there is a giant map of Tennessee on the grounds..with all cities listed, even the little ones..like Mount Juliet..highways & interstates.

Izabelle with the State of Tennessee flags...you can barely see her:)

Izabelle brought her new "Flashing Wheels"..they attach to her shoes and they work like heelies.
She had a blast rolling around Nashville:)

I hope you have a beautiful weekend!!!!!

Happy 70th!

Seventy years ago..today.."Gram" gave birth to a baby boy..Richie's father:) We celebrated two birthday's on Sunday! Lots & lots of birthday cake..yummo! We had Chicken Real cater the event. Menu: pulled pork, chicken tenders, cole slaw, baked beans, mashed potatoes & CAKE. Needless to say everyone was stuffed! Rich treated "the boys" (Trae, The Bob & Dad) to a Titans football game before the great feast..they all had a great time..a little too much sun..but the Titans won!

I hope you have another special day today, Dad. We love you so much! What a blessing to have you so close to us now. xoxoxo

Dad being silly..he was playing music director while everyone sang "Happy Birthday."

Happy 96th!

Today, Richie's grandmother is 96! We had a special get-together yesterday here at our house for her. She is so sweet. She was like a little kid with her cake & gifts from the family. She talks about the 96 years of her life that have really gone by fast. It reminds me of the new song out by Kenny Chesney.."Don't Blink" (click the link to see the video)

I turned on the evening news
Saw an old man being interviewed
Turning a hundred and two today
Asked him what's the secret to life
He looked up from his old pipe
Laughed and said "All I can say is"

Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
wake up and you're twenty five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You might just miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your "better half"
of fifty years is there in bed
and you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
Don't blink

I was glued to my tv when it looked like he looked at me and said
"Best start putting first things first"
Cause when your hour glass runs out of sand
You can't flip it over and start again
Take every breath God gives you for what it's worth

Don't blink

This song is in honor of you "Gram"..we love you so much! xoxox

Ellington & Pumpkins

Today we went on a field trip to Ellington Agricultural Center with our home school group. It was our first visit..they spoke a little about the covered wagon and how people used to be able to fit all of there belongings in one of those things..geesh..makes you so thankful for U-Haul! :) They have a beautiful museum. The grounds were very beautiful also. Life has gotten so complicated ya know. Just today I was complaining to cool Renee about my Comcast service..both phone lines are going crazy..sometimes they work..sometimes they don't. Very irritating..a technician will be out tomorrow between 2p-4p. Could you imagine living in a time when the only way to communicate to each other was through writing a letter..whoa! Could you imagine running a business with no cell phones, land-lines or computers? Ugh..I don't even want to go there..let's change the subject!

Before the field trip we stopped at a local church where I am renting another booth during their Fall Festival. They have pumpkins for sale! I had to take pictures of the little pumpkin playing in the pumpkins:)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday Grandma Pulley..I love you & miss you. xoxo
